Description

The course was designed to address the needs of business executives, project managers and procurement managers. It equips them with practical skills in procurement procedures, contract management and tendering process and evaluation. It is also suitable for new staff with specific responsibility for contract management, experienced staff who have had no formal structured training or who would like to upgrade their knowledge and skills and staff working at various levels in all public bodies, including central government, non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs), local government, health and education. The course explains the need for negotiations and tender awarding criteria and the need to monitor and evaluate contracts with contractors to achieve the intended objectives. It also deals with the legal issues that relate to the formation of contracts, the fundamentals of specifications and key performance indicators that are included in contractual arrangements made with suppliers and the key clauses that are included in formal contracts.
