Mr. Keorapetse Setlhare
Ag. Assistant Director, Academic and Learner Support
Keorapetse Setlhare is Ag Assistant Director, Academic and Learner Support, overseeing a team of professionals providing support services to learners in their academic journey. Departments falling under this function are: Library Services, Admissions, Assessment, Instructional Technology, Students Services, Marketing and Communications.
Prior to joining IDM in 2019, Mr Setlhare worked for Botho University for close to a decade, facilitating students sporting and recreational activities, Students Satisfaction, Students Internship and Graduate Placements, Alumni Engagements, International Students Relations, and Customer Complaints. He is a sound administrator, Coach, Strategic drive and quality base leader.
He is the current President of the Botswana Tertiary Students Sports Association (BOTESSA), and Vice President of the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA). BOTESSA is an affiliate of CUCSA, which coordinates and provides sports development initiatives for Southern African Universities and colleges.
He has previously served as President of the Private Tertiary Institutions Association (PTIA) and the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) High Performance Commission (HPC). An alumni of Young African Leaders Initiative Network (YALI) with qualifications in Civic Leadership, Mr Setlhare also sits in the Botswana Premier League (BPL) Technical Transition Committee.
In 2017 He was part of the team that developed the HRDC Norms and standards and in 2023 was elected as Public Relations Officer of the National Student Services Committee, working with representatives from other higher education institutions in Botswana
He holds MSc in Strategic Management from the University of Derby; MSc in Computer Science (Teesside University, UK) and Advanced Sports Management (International Olympic Committee) under the patronage of Olympic Solidarity. He holds certificates in Personal Management, and Certificate in Management Development.
