Ms. Ellen Mokalake

Ag. Assistant Director, Academic Services

Ellen Mokalake is the Acting Assistant Director, Academic Services. She previously served as Discipline Coordinator for Public Health Management. A public health practitioner who started her career as a clinical nurse, Ellen later became a nurse educator and lecturer with Institute of Health Sciences for 13 years. She joined IDM in 2009 as Senior Consultant/Lecturer. She was later promoted to the position of Principal Consultant/ Lecturer in the Public Health Management Discipline. Ellen possesses more than 20 years’ experience in human resource for health training, 13 of which she engaged in consultancies and research. Specifically, her work at IDM includes education, training, research and consultancy. In addition, Ellen has been involved in varies management roles at both Discipline and Institutional level. She has led a number of consultancies in areas such as HIV and AIDS, Gender and health, curriculum development and TB in the mines. In 2021, she coordinated a consultancy on Systems Thinking for strengthening District health Systems Initiative in Botswana, which was commissioned by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research. She facilitated a consultancy on the implementation of health, promoting school early adopter programme for piloting health promoting school global standards. Furthermore, she has participated in research with a focus on HIV and supportive counselling, HIV and youth and gender socialization in early adolescence. Ellen holds Masters in Public Health from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor in Education from the University of Botswana. She is a PhD candidate.

Mr. Keorapetse Setlhare

Ag. Assistant Director, Academic and Learner Support

Keorapetse Setlhare is Ag Assistant Director, Academic and Learner Support, overseeing a team of professionals providing support services to learners in their academic journey. Departments falling under this function are: Library Services, Admissions, Assessment, Instructional Technology, Students Services, Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining IDM in 2019, Mr Setlhare worked for Botho University for close to a decade, facilitating students sporting and recreational activities, Students Satisfaction, Students Internship and Graduate Placements, Alumni Engagements, International Students Relations, and Customer Complaints. He is a sound administrator, Coach, Strategic drive and quality base leader. He is the current President of the Botswana Tertiary Students Sports Association (BOTESSA), and Vice President of the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA). BOTESSA is an affiliate of CUCSA, which coordinates and provides sports development initiatives for Southern African Universities and colleges. He has previously served as President of the Private Tertiary Institutions Association (PTIA) and the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) High Performance Commission (HPC). An alumni of Young African Leaders Initiative Network (YALI) with qualifications in Civic Leadership, Mr Setlhare also sits in the Botswana Premier League (BPL) Technical Transition Committee. In 2017 He was part of the team that developed the HRDC Norms and standards and in 2023 was elected as Public Relations Officer of the National Student Services Committee, working with representatives from other higher education institutions in Botswana He holds MSc in Strategic Management from the University of Derby; MSc in Computer Science (Teesside University, UK) and Advanced Sports Management (International Olympic Committee) under the patronage of Olympic Solidarity. He holds certificates in Personal Management, and Certificate in Management Development.

Mr. Elijah Moakofhi

Campus Manager-Francistown

Elijah Moakofhi is IDM’s Francistown Campus Manager. He is responsible for the day to day running of the Campus, which includes facilitating the processes of Academic, Admissions; Assessment; Library; Marketing & Communications; Instructional Support and the Student Welfare in the Francistown office. Mr. Moakofhi joined IDM in 2017 as Academic Registrar and he progressed to the current position over the years. Prior to that, he worked in the Ministry of Education under the TVET sector where he was responsible for both Administrative and Curriculum functions. He has contributed immensely in the development of outcome-based curricula in Technical Education. Mr Moakofhi holds a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Management (University of Derby) and BEd (Hons) Management, Law & Policy (University of Pretoria).

Ms. Nametso Mosimanegape

Ag.Human Resources and Administration Manager

Nametso Mosimanegape is the Acting Human Resources and Administration Manager for the Institute of Development Management Botswana, overseeing HR functions including recruitment, talent development & management, staff welfare, compensation and benefits, as well as ensuring compliance to employment statutes and HR policies and procedures. She joined IDM as a Personal Assistant to the Regional Director in October 2017, following several years of service at the National Food Technology Research Centre. In May 2019, Ms Mosimanegape was appointed to the position of Administration Officer, facilitating administration and human resources work at regional level. She was responsible for overseeing the human resource management activities, at the same time providing secretarial services to the Joint Negotiation Committee meetings with the Union. Whilst at Regional Office, Ms Mosimanegape worked closely with the Director of Corporate Services in facilitating recruitment of senior positions both at Regional Office and campus levels. She was further responsible for coordinating preparations for Executive Committee and Regional Board meetings in Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini. Her positive work ethic earned her a promotion to the position of Human Resources and Administration Coordinator in January 2024, responsible for end-to-end HR duties, including labour relations matters, mediations and accompanying legal advisors during High Court and Industrial Court appearances. Ms Mosimanegape has a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management (Nelson Mandela University), Diploma in Business Education and Management, and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies. She is currently reading for a Master of Public Administration (Human Resource Management) with the University of Botswana.

Mr. Jimmy Segomotso Kwati

Information and Technology Manager

Jimmy Segomotso Kwati joined IDM in 2017 as IDM Information and Technology Manager.The mandate of IT department is to enable operations of the Institution through provision of information technology-based services required to facilitate the efficiency and effectiveness of IDM's processes. Mr Kwati has more than 20 years of practical experience in the field of IT business, having started his career at the University of Botswana back in 1996. He later joined Botswana Housing Corporation still within the field of Information and Communication Technology. Upon leaving BHC, Mr Kwati joined the business world as an entrepreneur, establishing Starlight Maintenance Services and PETTON Investments (Pty) Ltd as Managing Director. He also holds a position of directorship at Royal Pedigree (Pty) Ltd. He possesses a BSc Computer Science from University of Botswana and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Systems from Brunel University. He has actively participated in and facilitated the implementation of Change Management strategies. Mr Kwati is also a renowned public speaker, officiating at various public events

Mr. Gomolemo Masilo

Finance Manager

Gomolemo Masilo is the Finance Manager at IDM. He is a Global Chartered Management Accountant with over 15 years of experience in Financial Management, Forensic Accounting, Taxation, and Consulting. He began his career as an Accounts Officer at Shell Company Botswana. He thereafter joined IDM as Accounts Officer, later assuming the position of Accountant. In 2012, he transitioned to Dewet Drilling company where he served until 2014. Subsequently, he joined Bauer Dewet, a joint venture specializing in drill rig manufacturing for the export market, as an Accountant until February 2016. in 2018, Gomolemo retraced his footsteps and rejoined IDM, this time driving the IDM Collections strategy under Finance. Along his career, he has conducted accounting consultancies, providing financial services to NGOs and SMEs, alongside a stint at Lil-Que Consultants. Gomolemo has also performed lecturing roles in various Accounting and Finance modules. In addition to his multidisciplinary profile, Gomolemo has previously served as as a Laboratory Scientist at Gaborone Private Hospital’s Lancet Medical Laboratory and the Water Department at Bobirwa Sub Land Board, where he leveraged his Science background. His professional qualifications are: ACMA – Associate Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA); ACPA – Associate Certified Professional Accountant (BICA); CFIP – Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (USA); AAT Graduate – Association of Accounting Technicians; Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation. He holds a BSc in Microbiology & Soil Science.

Ms.Sandra Makgokolo

Ag. Quality Assurance Manager

Sandra Makgokolo is Ag Quality Assurance Manager at IDM Botswana. She is a dedicated quality assurance professional with a strong foundation in business, and institutional compliance. She’s responsible for ensuring alignment of institutional goals and regulatory standards; facilitating audits to ensure compliance; as well as monitoring continuous improvement to ensure consistent delivery of high academic and service standards. She began her journey with IDM in 2014 in the Admissions Office where she was attached under the Internship Programme. In 2015, Sandra was appointed Complaints and Enquiries Officer, where she built strong skills in conflict resolution, communication, problem-solving, and policy application, while developing professionalism and a deep understanding of stakeholder needs. In 2020, as she grew her professional career, Sandra transitioned into the Quality Assurance space, making significant contributions to IDM curriculum development, among other responsibilities, and supported key Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives including; audits, document reviews, and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement, while ensuring institutional compliance with regulatory requirements. To further bolster her capabilities, Sandra completed the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Lead Auditor training in 2023. The certification strengthened her ability to facilitate both internal and external audits, ensuring strong alignment with international quality standards. Sandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Quality Assurance in Education.
