Networking for Development
About This Course
Networking is a skill. It is about building teams or networks that provide support for community activities by facilitating access to information, ideas, expertise and resources, and supporting problem solving and action planning activities.
The purpose of this course relates to Strategic Area 5: Building Development Networks in the Strategic Framework for Community Development in Botswana’ (Ministry of Local Government August 2010). Strategic Area 5 aims to facilitate and coordinate cooperation of different change agents that are working with communities to help them develop sustainable livelihoods’. It is about building partnerships that are beneficial to communities”, and “building reciprocal relationships between communities so that they can benefit from the exchange of experience, information and ideas”. Strategic Area 5 provides a focal point for this module. The course therefore equips community development practitioners to drive the Strategic Area 5 of the Strategic Framework for Community Development in Botswana.
