Corporate Governance is a system of rules, policies, and practices that dictate how a company’s board of directors manages and oversees the operations of a corporation. In simple terms, corporate governance is a method of governing the company like a sovereign state, instating its own customs, policies and laws to its employees from the highest to the lowest levels. It includes principles of transparency, accountability and security. Corporate governance is therefore intended to increase the accountability of a company and to avoid massive disasters/risks before they occur. To be specific, upon completion of this learning Programme participants will be able to: appreciate the meaning and practice of corporate governance, demonstrate broad knowledge and skills of leadership and management, effectively engage stakeholders and build valuable networks, apply the brand positioning framework and understand the value of marketing, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the significance of corporate social responsibility.
